There are lots of different types of hot tub control systems, but if you have the right guidance, most of them are pretty straightforward to replace.
First and foremost, SpaDepot.com is the authority when it comes to providing replacement parts for your hot tub, along with anything else you need for your hot tub. I’ll be sighting many helpful things they have on their website, and there is a link to their equipment replacement guide below.
The first thing you need to know is do you have a low-flow system, or a high-flow system. Low-flow systems have small, continuously running circulation pumps. Additionally, they all have smaller heaters and smaller plumbing. The plumbing in most hot tubs is 2” PVC, which is a pretty big pipe. Low-flow systems typically us ¾” or sometimes 1” pipe.
Low-Flow Systems
Lots of hot tubs out there have low-flow heaters that look like this:

Other low-flow systems have heaters that look like this:

Low-flow systems will also use one of these pumps:

If you have a low-flow system and need a replacement pack, this replacement pack is for you: https://spadepot.com/products/easypak-balboa-bp100-spa-control-system-low-flow-heater-ep0101
High-Flow Systems
High-flow systems have 2” PVC going in and out of the heater. Sometimes they’ll use 1.5”, but most of the time it’s 2” PVC. If you’re not sure, pick up a couple of 2” to 1.5” reducer bushings. That way you’re covering all the bases.
Almost every high-flow system has a heater that looks like this:

If you have a high-flow system, this is the replacement pack for you:
